Gujarat Election Results 2022: The BJP secured majority by winning 156 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly.
GUJARAT ELECTION RESULT;
The BJP is set to form its government in Gujarat for the seventh consecutive term as it set a new record with victory on more than 150 seats. The new Gujarat government will be sworn in on Monday. The Congress had in 1985 won 149 seats – which was the earlier records.The BJP secured a majority by winning 156 seats in the 182-member assembly. The Congress and AAP were far behind and could only win 17 and 5 seats respectively. The AAP claimed it has been recognised as a national party after their performance in the Gujarat elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday registered its first-ever victory in Gujarat’s Jhagadia Assembly seat, where its candidate Ritesh Vasava defeated heavyweight tribal leader and seven-time MLA Chhotubhai Vasava by 23,500 votes.

Just over a month after a bridge collapse claimed 135 lives, BJP’s Kantilal Amrutiya on Thursday won the Morbi assembly seat in Gujarat, defeating his Congress rival Jaynatilal Patel by 62079 votes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today thanked Gujarat for the massive, record-breaking mandate in the assembly elections, saying he was “humbled by their trust and faith in us”.
