Bhopal has lagged behind in the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Exam. Bhopal was ranked 28th in the state. Phanda Block i.e. Bhopal New City also stood at 15th position in the ranking of blocks. In 52 districts of the state, Damoh district and Rewa block topped in all the blocks of the state. The score card and ranking of this exam was released on Friday. Based on the parameters fixed for the examination, separate rankings of districts and blocks were prepared. State Education Center director Dhanraju S said that students studying in class 8 of government schools had appeared in this exam taken on November 6.
This time the maximum number of 2.52 lakh students appeared in it so far. Fifteen thousand students of Bhopal had given the exam. Successful students in this exam are given ₹ 12000 scholarship every year from class 9th to 12th for their further studies. Madhya Pradesh’s quota of 6446 students is fixed for those who get scholarships after being successful in this exam. According to officials, this is the first time that this quota has been met. About 150 students of Bhopal are included in this. According to the number of students, these students will get a scholarship of Rs 7 crore, 73 lakh, 52 thousand for the next 3 years across the state.
